last update of this article: 2 Isle of Man modells added (2017-01-29) – previous updates: Blackpool Balloon tram and Budapest trolleybus added
For some time now Atlas Editions from Switerland (owned by an Italian company) is offering – by subscription only (!) – H0 tram models from around the world. The models are fairly well done (but various errors have been found by experts!) and the models are for display only – i.e. they do not have working bogies/wheels. They offer the tram collection in various European countries. Originally only models of existing trams were produced (looks like they measured the originals, often in museums) but the more recent models of Dijon, Liege and Paris (L type only) seem not to have survived into preservation. In the UK Atlas is offering only OO gauge UK models that have been produced under license from the existing Corgi range (including buses and some trolleybus) but not quite to the same quality as the original Corgi models. Only two of these have been shipped with the German subscriptions. Atlas is also offering a bus collection (I will try to obtain a few of the trolleybuses in this series for my collection only).
Some special Swiss models are still available from Edition LAN AG (they now also sell the other standard models). They usually offer one model of each type that is identical with the 3 Swiss models available to Atlas subscribers but also offer 1 or 2 different versions of them with different fleet numbers and/or different livery.
Strangely, two totally non-authentic models have been produced by Atlas for the French market: the Munich tram in green livery for the interurban “Montmorency – Enghien – Saint-Gratien” and the tiny Halle tram was produced in white livery as “Tramways de Cambrai”: http://forum.e-train.fr/trains/download/file.php?id=259949
Here is my collection:
A few years earlier another “subscription only” company offered HO tram models: Del Prado. The series was unfortunately cancelled after 6 trams due to “lack of interest”:
There were also two H0 London tram models (a 4-wheeler and a Feltham) which I did not purchase.
Some other models in my collection (H0 if not stated otherwise)
